This has been an emotional week for me. I realized that I have been defeated and that the struggles of my life might continue for a bit. And in one of my moments of contemplation I thought of the above quote and it made me smile. I came to realize that the struggles of my life make me a better person. I will grow from them and they make me a beautiful person. I hope this quote helps you all come to the same realization if you didn't already know.
Elizabeth Kubler Ross, M.D. name might not sound familiar to some of you. But I believe you all have heard of the Kübler-Ross model, better known as the Five Stages of Grief. Dr. Kubler-Ross was a wonderful woman, who has and will continue to inspire many with her teachings. If you have a moment, please take the time to read many of her other wonderful words of wisdom.
I found Dr. E K-R when I was going through my first divorce. I guess I felt really shit-upon and had a lot of pent-up anger. My shrink asked me to read the five steps and it did help.
ReplyDeleteI'm concerned that you feel defeated. I can't imagine you ever giving up, TJ, but I certainly understand that sometimes we can be overwhelmed. Maybe it's time to step back and look at your goals from another perspective. Maybe there's another path or a work-around that you haven't considered. You might even decide to head in a different direction completely.
You're young and determined. Your story is not over! Maybe it's time for a major plot twist to lead you to your beautiful HEA.
I'm in the process of trying to find work and have been looking for quite some time without any success. So I do feel defeated, like no one knows or can see what a wonderful candidate I am. It's been very stressful and has made me a bit more insecure. But I will crawl out of this feeling and get back on track.

And I must say you are the most beautiful people I know.
You fill me with such love and inspire me to live better and think better of myself. Which in turn helps me be a better person to other people and see people differently. I thank you for that. You are a blessing and I'm glad to know and surrounded by you, a beautiful and amazing person.
